Magelang, Central Java (ANTARA) - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian emphasized that regional leaders can benefit from learning positive values at the Military Academy, focusing on non-militaristic aspects.

"I have already said about this that we are just borrowing the space. We are learning about the Military Academy, not its militaristic aspects. There are important values that also apply in the business sector," he remarked here on Saturday.

"Here, one can learn about discipline. For example, during physical training, military and police personnel usually start on time at 5:30 a.m., while this time, only when the music started, then the crowd came," the minister stated.

Karnavian said his side is keen to instill the value of timeliness during the regional leader retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang.

"For example, if a meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., it should really start at that time, without delays. I once was invited for an event set for 9 a.m. but that only began at 12 p.m. That was not acceptable," he explained.

The minister also emphasized that cleanliness is highly valued in the Military Academy environment, with a strict requirement for each room to be tidied up after use.

On the occasion, he brought together some mayors and district heads from Southeast Sulawesi, providing them with an opportunity to unwind on the grass field and engage in informal conversations.

Karnavian underscored the need for more governor-led meetings among district heads and mayors.

He believes that provincial-level meetings should take place at least every three to four months to evaluate accomplishments and how they can assist one another.
