According to its statement cited here on Friday, the ministry formalized its cooperation with Pandi on Thursday (February 27) by inking a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
"This initiative does not merely revolve around providing digital addresses, but it also serves as a manifestation of our commitment to assisting cooperatives in becoming more adaptive, innovative, and competitive in the digital era," the ministry's secretary, Ahmad Zabadi, stated.
The MoU outlines that the two parties will collaborate to provide cooperatives with access to the second-level domain name "kop.id" and raise awareness of its significance and use through seminars, webinars, training workshops, and other activities.
Furthermore, the agreement includes plans to provide and exchange necessary data and information on cooperatives to utilize the domain name.
Zabadi emphasized that offering access to the new domain name marks a breakthrough in helping cooperatives build their identities, credibility, and professionalism in the digital space.
The official noted that the use of this distinctive domain name is also expected to facilitate cooperatives to expand their market reach domestically and internationally.
He further reiterated that this collaboration is a strategic move designed to provide cooperatives with official digital identities.
"Through the domain name 'kop.id,' each cooperative will have a validated and trusted digital home," he remarked, stressing that access to this domain name will only be granted to cooperatives verified through their cooperative registration numbers.
