The ministry is ready to support President Prabowo Subianto's directive to implement pro-people policies in preparation for the 2025 Eid homecoming period, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, said in a press statement that ANTARA quoted here Monday.
"For the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprise, this joint homecoming agenda is similar to policies such as reducing airfares or adding train carriages to make it easier for people to gather with their families," he added.
Seventy-eight state-owned enterprises are participating in the homecoming program, which offers three modes of transport: 1,360 buses (67 thousand travelers), 90 train sets (28 thousand travelers), and 26 ships (five thousand travelers).
It covers more than 200 cities and regencies across Java, Sumatra, Bali, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua.

The government and state-owned enterprises expect the program to help ease traffic congestion, lower accident rates, and provide a safer and more comfortable homecoming experience to the public.
According to the president director of state-owned insurance company Jasa Raharja and coordinator of the BUMN homecoming program, Rivan A. Purwantono, safety is the main priority.
One safety measure prepared as part of risk mitigation is ensuring that all transportation fleets pass feasibility tests and drivers hold valid licenses.
Purwantono informed that Jasa Raharja is coordinating with several related agencies and all state-owned enterprises to ensure that safety procedures are fully observed.
Inspections have been conducted to ensure not only the technical condition of fleets but also the physical and mental readiness of drivers.
"All buses, trains, and ships used must meet the required safety standards. Additionally, we also provide insurance protection for travelers to provide a sense of safety during the journey," he said.
Travelers taking buses offered by the Free Homecoming are scheduled to depart on March 27, 2025; those taking trains on March 25, 26, 27, and 28; and those traveling on ships on March 28.
