"The holiday allowance for private sector, SOE, and BUMD employees should be given no later than seven days before Eid," he said at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday.
According to Prabowo, the government reached the decision after a series of meetings involving Red and White Cabinet ministers.
Details on the mechanisms for the provision of holiday allowance will be provided in a circular letter by the Manpower Ministry.
"The amount and mechanism will be conveyed by the Minister of Manpower through a circular letter," Prabowo informed.
Besides the announcement on the holiday allowance for private, SOE, and BUMD workers, the President also asked app-based transportation service companies to provide holiday bonuses to their driver and courier partners.
The President said that online drivers and couriers have made significant contributions to supporting transportation and logistics services in Indonesia.
"This year, the government is paying attention to online drivers and couriers who have made significant contributions to supporting transportation and logistics services in Indonesia," he said.
The government has urged all app-based transportation service companies to provide holiday bonuses to online couriers and drivers in the form of cash, considering their performances.
"For the amount and mechanism of giving these holiday bonuses, we leave it to the Minister of Manpower to negotiate and communicate through a circular letter," the President said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, informed that the government will negotiate the holiday allowance for driver and courier partners with app-based transportation service providers on Tuesday (March 11, 2025).
