Speaking at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday, he noted that app-based taxi drivers and online couriers play a crucial role in supporting transportation and logistics services in Indonesia.
"This year, the government is paying special attention to online drivers and couriers who have made significant contributions to supporting transportation and logistics services in Indonesia," he added.
There are currently around 250 thousand active online taxi drivers and couriers, and another one million to 1.5 million work those jobs part-time.
"Therefore, the government urges all app-based transportation service companies to provide holiday bonuses to online couriers and drivers in the form of cash, considering their work activity," Prabowo said.
He expressed the hope that all driver and courier partners will be able to enjoy the Eid holidays better with the THR policy.

The President announced the allowance for online driver and courier partners after a meeting with Manpower Minister Yassierli, Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Gojek Tokopedia (GoTo) CEO Patrick Walujo, Grab CEO Anthony Tan, and representatives of online driver partners.
At the meeting with leaders of app-based transportation service companies, the President noted that the government has received commitments from them to provide THR to their driver and courier partners.
"We have received commitments from the leaders of online motorcycle taxi companies, namely Mr. Patrick Walujo as CEO of GoTo and CEO of Grab, Anthony Tan," he said.
Gojek and Grab are currently the two largest app-based transportation companies operating in Indonesia.
The demand for THR for app-based taxi drivers and online couriers has been repeatedly voiced by driver communities during demonstrations.
