The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the two parties in Jakarta on Monday.
BNPT head Eddy Hartono confirmed here on Tuesday that the collaboration will focus more on preventing the spread of radical terror ideologies in cyberspace.
"The BNPT hopes that with the existence of the MoU, going forward, the government of the Netherlands and us can work more effectively and focus on counterterrorism," he said.
He informed that cyberspace is prone to being used by terrorist groups for various activities such as spreading propaganda, carrying out recruitment, and channeling funding for terror groups.
Therefore, he said, it is likely that in the future, both parties will focus more on sharing information about cyberspace analysis and increasing cooperation to improve analytical capabilities.

At the MoU signing event, the Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Marc Gerritsen, emphasized the importance of ensuring that continuous attention is given to dealing with the threat of terrorism, which is also affected by global dynamics.
He noted that the same thing applies to the Netherlands because there are always different risk issues and developments.
He further said that the fact that in the last two years, there has been no open attack in Indonesia is a good thing, but it must not lead to a reduced level of alertness.
Gerritsen expressed the hope that the cooperation would strengthen both countries' counter-terrorism strategies, especially through the exchange of information, increase in analytical capabilities, as well as strengthening of counter-radicalism measures in the cyberworld.
