"In line with the global economic dynamics that continue to develop, we have agreed to form a special study team that will evaluate various regulations that could potentially hinder the entry of investment into Indonesia," Pandjaitan informed here on Wednesday.
He said he and Hartarto have realized that several regulations could be hindering investment in Indonesia. Therefore, they will ask President Prabowo Subianto to remove those regulations.
"There will be a team that will work for a week starting from tomorrow," he added.
With the formation of the special team, it is hoped that a more favorable and attractive investment climate for domestic and international investors can be created.
The decision to form the team was the result of a meeting between DEN and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, which aimed to build closer synergy between the two parties to ensure that the direction of their economic policies is in line, coordinated, and well-integrated.
At the meeting, the two parties discussed various strategic issues of shared concern, including the 8-percent economic growth target.
"This is not an easy target. Nevertheless, I believe that with the right strategy, with the revitalization of labor-intensive industries, acceleration of investment, and strengthening public digital infrastructure, we can accomplish the big mission of President Prabowo," he said.
Pandjaitan also expressed optimism that solid coordination between the DEN and relevant ministries and agencies can lead to the formulation of policies that are more effective in supporting national economic growth and providing wider benefits to the community.
