"With infrastructure, we can develop cooperation networks, establish partnerships with all institutions and other ministries," BGN Head Dadan Hindayana stated at the Pejaten Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of the National Police (Polri) here on Monday.
He noted that, in addition to infrastructure, two other keys to success in the free meals program are the budget that has been prepared and trained human resources.
"We have trained human resources and are increasing them to complete it, and it will be completed in July," he remarked.
Furthermore, Hindayana highlighted four standards for implementing the free meals program: ensuring calorie intake, maintaining nutritional composition, upholding hygiene standards, and guaranteeing food safety. Polri's SPPG already meets these four criteria.
This serious measure is expected to boost optimism for the program, with the goal of reaching 82.9 million beneficiaries by September 2025.
Meanwhile, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti expressed hope that Polri's SPPG can be part of the efforts to create a healthy and strong generation as well as synergy in realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
According to the BGN, Polri has planned to build 542 SPPG.
The Indonesian government officially launched the free nutritious meals program on January 6, 2025, as one of the main programs of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for their 2024–2029 term.
Through the program, the government aims to enhance the nutritional intake of children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and schoolchildren up to high school age.
