This commitment was expressed by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono during a meeting with the Special Envoy of the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, at the Foreign Ministry office here on Monday (March 17).
Sugiono emphasized that Indonesia will persist in its support for Palestine through various means, including diplomatic initiatives, humanitarian aid delivery, and support for Gaza's reconstruction.
Both officials also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza resulting from stalled ceasefire negotiations and underscored the importance of post-war reconstruction efforts.
"The Indonesian government collaborates with civil society and philanthropy organizations to help Palestine more, including by the development of a mother and child hospital in Gaza," the foreign minister remarked.

Meanwhile, Special Envoy Al-Habbash conveyed his appreciation for Indonesia's perseverance in supporting the Palestinian cause and expressed gratitude for Indonesia's humanitarian assistance, especially those delivered for the people of Gaza.
"I hope the cooperation in the delivery of the humanitarian assistance will be increased through close coordination with the Palestinian Authority," Al-Habbash affirmed.
Earlier, the Indonesian public organization Aqsa Working Group (AWG), one of the initiators of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza, along with the Maemuna Center, stated that the hospital development will commence in April 2025 at the earliest.
According to the plan conveyed by the two organizations, the hospital will be developed on 5,000 square meters of land endowed by the Palestinian Health Ministry and situated near the destroyed Al-Rantisi Children's Hospital.
The hospital, estimated to cost Rp402 billion (US$24.4 million), will be equipped with 100 beds, a laboratory, outpatient facilities, and emergency, ICU, maternity, and surgery facilities.
