She made this statement during a gathering in Cijantung, East Jakarta, on Sunday (March 16), where she distributed takjil (meals for breaking the fast) to the community.
“We maintain and practice the spirit of Tri Hita Karana (a Balinese concept emphasizing harmony among humans, nature, and God) in our daily lives, starting from the smallest unit, which is the family," Oka affirmed.
According to Oka, families play a crucial role in shaping children's character, as they provide the initial environment for children to learn essential life values.
She explained that the values of Tri Hita Karana, rooted in Hinduism, will strengthen the quality of human resources in Indonesia, aligning with the fourth goal of President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita (a set of national development goals), ultimately contributing to the vision of a Golden Indonesia in 2045.
As a manifestation of harmony among religious communities, she affirmed that social contribution is an embodiment of mutual assistance and social awareness.
She elaborated that this aligns with the teachings of dharma (righteous conduct), involving tangible actions that benefit others and promote social sensitivity to the conditions of the surrounding community.
Oka also stated that the ministry continues to enhance family welfare through various population and family development programs, including supporting the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in implementing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
This program aims to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, which are crucial for overall family development. It specifically targets pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, preschool-aged children, and toddlers not enrolled in preschool.
The ministry also has five quick-win programs focused on stunting prevention, provision of daycare services, fathers' involvement in childcare, family consultation, and empowering the elderly.
