Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police (Polri) will hold an Operation Ketupat preparation routine on Thursday (March 20) at the Brawijaya District Military Field in Surabaya, East Java, to ensure personnel readiness for securing the Eid period.

"The routine will be directly led by the Polri Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and it will also be attended by Commander of the Indonesian Military, General Agus Subiyanto," Head of Polri Public Relations, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated here on Wednesday.

The preparation routine is expected to boost synergy and solidarity between the police, the military, relevant ministries/agencies, and stakeholders in securing travelers during the Eid holiday in 2025.

Andiko also highlighted that Surabaya, which is the location of the routine, is one of the focal points for security during the operation.

"This is because Surabaya is a destination for many homecoming travelers from Central Java, West Java, and other regions," he remarked.

Earlier, Police Chief Prabowo stressed that the police are committed to offering a range of services to travelers to ensure their journeys are safe and comfortable, especially through Operation Ketupat 2025.

"We hope that this year’s exodus will be conducted safely and comfortably. The government and all stakeholders will work together to provide the best services for homecoming in 2025," he stated.

Prabowo noted that Operation Ketupat 2025 will run from March 23 to April 8, 2025, in two operational areas.

The operation will be held for 17 days from Lampung to Bali regions (Java-Bali) and two weeks for other regions under the jurisdiction of 28 regional police.

"It will take place for 14 days starting from March 23 for eight regional police, and another 28 regional police will start on March 26," he remarked.
