Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs aims to complete the creation of an artificial intelligence (AI) utilization roadmap in three months.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria noted that the government had held discussions with stakeholders to create a comprehensive roadmap for AI use.

"We also cooperate with several organizations and companies that also support it," he said, as quoted in his ministry's press release in Jakarta on Thursday.

In a discussion forum titled "The Future of AI Governance in Indonesia: Global Learning and Practice" held in Jakarta on Wednesday, he noted that the government is studying AI utilization regulations in other countries as a reference in creating the roadmap.

He also expressed appreciation for the institutions that have conducted studies on AI governance and provided input to the government on preparing inclusive AI governance.

Patria affirmed that the government is keen to support the industry's growth by drafting regulations that can promote the use of AI without creating a high compliance burden.

"We do not want to hinder innovations, given the dynamic nature of AI," the deputy minister remarked.
