During a troop roll call in Surabaya, East Java, Polri Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said on Thursday that this operation involves personnel from the National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), transportation services, scouts, and other agencies.
He stated that Polri has established 2,835 security posts and will focus on securing 126,736 vital locations, including terminals, stations, ports, airports, and tourist sites.
In addition to security measures, Polri has also prepared traffic management schemes to anticipate congestion, especially on major toll roads and arterial routes, he added.
The strategies include regulating three-axle vehicle travel and implementing an odd-even license plate system, contraflow, and a one-way system, which will be adjusted based on real-time traffic conditions.
"Arterial roads remain a key focus, with personnel and security posts deployed to provide optimal service for the public during homecoming," Listyo said.
Furthermore, the police have set up a 110 hotline for the public to obtain information or submit complaints regarding homecoming services.
The service operates 24 hours a day, with officers ready to provide assistance.
"With these measures, we hope the 2025 Eid homecoming travel will run smoothly, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys," he said.
Earlier, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said his ministry has projected the peak of the 2025 homecoming travel on March 28, with an estimated 12.1 million people expected to be on the move.
The peak of the return flow is predicted to occur on April 6, with an estimated 31.49 million travelers.
A survey conducted in collaboration with Litbang Kompas indicates that approximately 146.48 million people, or around 52 percent of Indonesia’s total population, are expected to travel during this year’s Eid holidays.
