Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that his administration has successfully introduced and implemented several key initiatives.

During a plenary Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, he stated that the government has implemented the Free Health Checks program since February to provide all citizens with equal access to essential medical services.

Prabowo asserted that the program is a major initiative, as not all countries offer such services to their citizens.

He then cited Government Regulation No. 8 of 2025, which mandates that exporters deposit all foreign exchange earnings from the export of natural resources into domestic banks.

He emphasized that the regulation, in effect since March 1, applies to exporters using credit from state-run banks or other state-owned assets.

"These companies must deposit 100 percent of their foreign exchange domestically within one year," he said, adding that the regulation is expected to boost Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves by up to US$100 billion.

Furthermore, Prabowo highlighted the launch of Indonesia's first-ever bullion bank—a financial institution that specializes in dealing with precious metals, primarily gold—on February 26.

"Although our gold reserves are the sixth-largest in the world, we only recently established our own bullion bank," he said.

He added that the national bullion bank allows citizens to deposit gold domestically, which is expected to reduce Indonesia's reliance on similar depository services abroad.

"I would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the establishment of our first bullion bank, enabling people to deposit their gold domestically rather than in other countries," he said.

Prabowo concluded by affirming that these initiatives represent strategic steps toward strengthening Indonesia's economy, enhancing public welfare, and ensuring that more citizens benefit from the nation's wealth.
