"We encourage micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative industry to have confidence in penetrating the global market and gaining international recognition," he said on Sunday.
According to him, the creative economy sector offers services and products with strong export potential.
To enhance competitiveness and accelerate the success of its "MSMEs Can Export" program, the Ministry of Trade provides various forms of assistance, including product development, capacity building for business players, and export market development.
The ministry also operates the Export and Trade Service Human Resources Training Center (PPEJP), which trains entrepreneurs to become exporters.
In terms of product development, the ministry has the Indonesia Design Development Center which provides design consultation services to business players.
Meanwhile, market development efforts are strengthened by optimizing the role of trade representatives abroad.
"We have 33 trade representatives stationed overseas, and every month, we conduct at least 33 pitching sessions or product introductions to foreign markets," he explained.
He further stated that in January 2025 alone, business matching essions were conducted 32 times, while product pitching was held 40 times, resulting in total transactions worth 5.2 million US dollars. However, in February 2025, the transaction value declined to 3.5 million US dollars.
"These transactions reflect that our country is being recognized by international markets. This is a strong start for business players to gain confidence and compete globally. Therefore, collaboration is essential for advancing our creative industry," he emphasized.
Recently, the Ministry of Trade signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Creative Economy to support the development of the creative economy sector.
The collaboration also involves the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) to strengthen cybersecurity measures and ensure more accurate data related to the creative economy.
