Sleman, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to attend the "Tawur Agung Kesanga" ceremony, which will be held as part of the Hindu Nyepi Holy Day at Prambanan Temple on Friday.

"We have coordinated at the central and regional levels, and it is confirmed that the Vice President will attend the Tawur Agung ceremony at Prambanan Temple," Gede Narayana, chair of the National Committee for the Nyepi Day Celebration, said here on Thursday.

According to Narayana, the Tawur Agung ceremony will comprise two main events: a ceremonial event in the morning and the core worship ceremony for the Hindu community in the afternoon.

"This ceremonial event will be attended by the Vice President, the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Governor of Yogyakarta, the Central Java Governor, and other officials," he informed.

He said that the ceremonial event will include speeches and greetings as well as dance performances.

Meanwhile, the worship ceremony will be attended by Hindu worshippers in the Prambanan Temple courtyard as preparation for observing the four main prohibitions: no fire/light, no work, no travel, and no entertainment.

"This worship will be led by Hindu priests as preparation for self-purification," he said.

He added that the Nyepi Holy Day this year is themed "Realizing Golden Indonesia 2045, Harmonization in Religious Moderation in the Era of Technology."

Narayana informed that the Nyepi Day celebration this year will consist of 14 agendas with various sub-events leading up to the peak event, National Dharmasanti, which will be held on April 26, 2025, at the Cilangkap Military Base, East Jakarta.

"The Nyepi celebration is understood not only as a religious ritual and a spiritual enhancement but also as a moment for self-reflection and harmony with nature and fellow human beings," he said.
