"The main domestic flight routes are Denpasar, Kualanamu, Surabaya, and internationally to Singapore, so it still has not changed, similar to last year," Deputy Communication and Legal Officer of Soekarno Hatta Airport, M. Holik Muardi, stated in Tangerang on Thursday.
Muardi highlighted that besides Denpasar, Bali, being a favored destination for this year's Eid holiday, domestic flights to Surabaya and Kualanamu are also popular routes among passengers at Indonesia’s largest and busiest airport.
However, airlines have requested fewer additional flights this year compared to the same period last year, with 735 requests for extra flights across both domestic and international routes.
"The (number of) additional flight requests has indeed decreased than last year during the same period. This year, 735 requests for extra flights were received. We have made various preparations, starting from increasing personnel and ensuring conditions above normal standards," he elaborated.
As of now, the Angkasa Pura Indonesia Soetta Airport Branch Office in Tangerang has recorded 167,327 passenger movements at the airport on D-4 (four days before) Eid al-Fitr 2025.
Out of the total passenger count of 167,327, some 95,326 were departing, while 72,001 were arriving during this period.
"As of today, passenger movement continues to increase. Some 167,327 people were recorded as having passed through Soetta Airport during this Eid homecoming period," Muardi remarked.
He elaborated that passenger movements included 42,746 people passing through Terminal 1, with 292 flights accounting for 26.24 percent of aircraft movements.
Terminal 2 saw a movement of 56,512 passengers with 389 flights, reflecting an increase of 34.96 percent. Meanwhile, Terminal 3 handled 63,008 people with 406 flights.
