She said that the ministry has issued a circular regarding preparedness for health services during the holiday to regional authorities and hospitals.
It has readied the Public Safety Center (PSC 119) —the Indonesian health emergency services number— and Emergency Medical Team (EMT) services.
The ministry has instructed each region to form a health team and health service posts in certain locations, including in accident-prone and tourism sites.
Widyawati said that the health service posts should have adequate facilities, infrastructure, medicines, and medical equipment.
She added that the ministry had also organized the Free Health Screening program for transportation drivers.
She echoed the ministry's preparedness to mitigate potential disease outbreaks and other health crises that may arise.
