Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs ensured that security and public service operations continue to run optimally during the long Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri holiday period.

"The minister of political and security affairs has tasked us with ensuring that public security within communities can operate optimally, especially during the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the national long holiday period," the minister's advisor, Oka Prawira, remarked here on Wednesday (April 2).

During his visit to Ragunan Zoo and Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Prawira ensured that his ministry had made preparations for public service availability during the holiday period.

In the ministry's statement here on Thursday, Prawira revealed that his visits to public service sites, both at terminals and tourist attractions, aimed to observe firsthand whether the services were functioning smoothly.

He clarified that the on-duty public service personnel could resolve some challenges encountered in the field.

"The challenges we encountered were generally related to public infrastructure and facilities that need improvement, such as access to tourist attractions," he explained.

He emphasized the need for strategies to mitigate traffic congestion during the extended holiday periods and anticipate surges in visitor numbers.

He also advised travelers returning to the city from their hometowns to maintain their health and comply with existing regulations.

"Public order and security are not only the duty of officials or public service providers but also a shared responsibility of the community itself," he emphasized.

He expressed hope for synergy between officials and the public to ensure smooth public service on important occasions like the long Eid holiday period.
