Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka commended state toll road operator Jasa Marga for its effective use of technology, which ensured a conducive Eid al-Fitr travel period, particularly during the return peak period.

According to Raka, leveraging technology is a strategic approach to optimizing Jasa Marga's Command Center in addressing travel and people's mobilization developments during important occasions, such as the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

"The utilization of technology, as shown in this command center, is very strategic. I hope this system continues to be developed to become more responsive and adaptive to dynamics on the ground," Gibran noted in a statement here on Monday.

The vice president reviewed the technology applied by Jasa Marga at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Center in Bekasi, West Java, on Sunday night (April 6), where he monitored the peak return flow on several Indonesian toll roads.

Accompanied by Jasa Marga President Director Subakti, Gibran reviewed the strategic measures implemented by Jasa Marga to manage the post-Eid return flow effectively and safely.

VP Gibran's monitoring of the peak return flow aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive.

The president earlier instructed his cabinet to ensure optimal preparations for the Eid homecoming and return flow.

During the review at Jasa Marga Command Center, VP Gibran emphasized that the return flow is a crucial phase after the community celebrates Eid.

He stressed that the government must ensure safe, orderly, and smooth travel for citizens returning to their destination cities.

He also lauded the cross-sector collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police Traffic Corps, and Jasa Marga, which have worked together to maintain smooth traffic flow.
