"From our reviews at several posts, we received an explanation from the deputy minister of transportation that all return flow activities were monitored and controlled to run smoothly. Officers in the field also worked professionally," the ministry's Deputy for Communication and Information Coordination Eko Dono Indarto noted in a statement on Sunday.
The ministry's Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr Holiday Monitoring Team visited several homecoming node points on Sunday such as the Integrated Eid Transportation Center Post at the Ministry of Transportation office, Gambir Station, the KM 6B rest area post on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, and the Kampung Rambutan Terminal.
During the visit to the KM 6B rest area of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, the team found the traffic flow to be relatively dense but was still monitored to be smooth and safe.
Meanwhile, passenger numbers at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal had decreased.
"Vigilance and readiness in monitoring this homecoming transportation should be continued for the sake of serving the community," Indarto emphasized.
He then praised the services provided by Gambir Station to train passengers with several breakthroughs to ensure their safety and comfort, such as the availability of a defibrillator, a face recognition system, a children's playground, a health post, lost and found goods services, public complaint services, and improvements in railway technicalities such as route arrangements and the addition of carriages.
"Gambir Station demonstrates extraordinary service. Other modes of transportation should duplicate it. We hope all services can be better and more professional to increase the people's trust in the government, especially during the homecoming period," he stated.
