Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that the city's poverty rate decreased by 0.16 percentage points in September 2024, reaching 4.14 percent, compared to 4.30 percent in March 2024.

"Jakarta's poverty rate was recorded at 4.14 percent. This figure has decreased by 0.16 percent compared to March 2024 and decreased by 0.30 percent compared to March 2023," he stated while delivering the Jakarta Governor's Accountability Report (LKPJ) for 2024 on Wednesday.

Anung attributed this achievement to improvements in several macroeconomic indicators, including stable economic growth.

He outlined that Jakarta's economic growth in 2024, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), was Rp3,679 trillion (US$212 million) at current prices and Rp2,151 trillion (US$123 million) at constant prices.

Pramono noted that Jakarta's economic performance aligned with national economic developments amid global economic uncertainty.

"Jakarta's economy continues to grow relatively high, namely 4.90 percent, though lower than the previous year's growth of 4.96 percent," he remarked.

In terms of expenditure, all components experienced growth, with the highest increase recorded in consumption by non-profit institutions serving households, followed by exports of goods and services.

On the production side, accommodation and food and beverages showed the highest growth, followed by the construction, transportation, and warehousing sectors. Meanwhile, the governor remarked that Jakarta's annual inflation demonstrated a downward trend in 2024.

He explained that the inflation in December 2024 was recorded at 1.48 percent year-on-year. Key contributors to inflation included gold jewelry, rice, cookies, and oil.

The LKPJ is an annual report detailing the implementation of regional government tasks and responsibilities.

The submission of the 2024 LKPJ complies with Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government and Government Regulation Number 13 of 2019 regarding Reports and Evaluation of Regional Government Implementation, as well as Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 19 of 2024.
