Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto described his state visit to Turkiye, especially in Ankara, as productive, emphasizing its success in fostering cooperation across various sectors.

Prabowo shared this sentiment before continuing his last agenda in Turkiye: attending the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) in Antalya City, Turkiye.

"We want to strengthen relationships and cooperation in various fields. I feel productive with my visit this time," he stated in Ankara on Friday.

The head of state emphasized the warm reception he received during his visit to Turkiye, reflecting the close ties between the two countries.

Upon arrival in Ankara on Wednesday (April 9), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Prabowo at the airport, underscoring the personal rapport between the leaders.

On his second day in Turkiye, Prabowo delivered a speech in front of the speaker and members of the Turkish parliament, addressing topics such as peace efforts, humanitarian aid for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and the historical closeness of Indonesia and Turkiye that has existed since the Ottoman Empire.

Prabowo was then warmly welcomed by Erdogan with a state ceremony at the Turkish Presidential Palace.

He also had a one-on-one meeting with Erdogan, followed by a bilateral meeting between the Indonesian and Turkish governments.

"I think I am well-received here. We do have a special relationship with Turkiye," he confirmed.

Turkiye is the second country in Prabowo's series of state visits to the Middle East.

After completing various agendas in Ankara, Prabowo left for Antalya, Turkiye, to attend the ADF and become one of the speakers at the forum.

He will then depart for Egypt to continue his state visit series.

In Cairo, the president is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday (April 12) to discuss the current geopolitical situation, as well as consult on the situation in Gaza, including Indonesia's plan to accommodate Palestinian victims of the war in Gaza temporarily.
