"This visit is to directly monitor the activities (fast track services) and provide assistance, facilities, and convenience in order to make this activity a success," Almirba stated at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia here on Tuesday.
The fast track service is part of the Makkah Route Initiative, which aims to simplify the Saudi Arabia immigration service process carried out at several airports in Indonesia and other countries that also receive this service.
According to Almirba, this initiative demonstrates the Saudi Arabian government's special attention to Hajj pilgrims from all Islamic countries, especially Indonesia, which has the world's largest Muslim population.
He emphasized that this service forms a crucial foundation for cooperation between the two countries, particularly for those participating in the fast track service system.
"And what the Indonesian government has shown or given in making this activity a success is very important," he affirmed.
Hence, the Government of Saudi Arabia commends the efforts of both parties, especially the Indonesian Government, in making the program a success.
Currently, three embarkation points in Indonesia -- Jakarta, Surabaya, and Solo -- offer fast track services determined by both parties.
Almirba emphasized that his visit also sought to address the Indonesian Government's needs regarding the fast track service and identify areas for improvement.
"Hence, this afternoon, we would like to hear directly from His Excellency the Minister of Religious Affairs about the Mecca Route fast track initiative, which certainly reflects the cooperation that has been going on for a long time," he stated.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that one of this year's Hajj service goals is to resolve all issues related to handling Hajj pilgrims so as not to burden Saudi Arabia's Government.
"We will organize all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, and hopefully, we will not inconvenience Saudi Arabia's government in handling the problems of our Hajj pilgrims," the minister remarked.
