The minister made this statement at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, after briefing President Prabowo Subianto regarding the results of the Indonesian delegation's tariff negotiation mission in Washington, D.C., last week.
"In principle, Indonesia's offers, which were outlined in a letter, have been appreciated by the US. This is because the letter contained relatively comprehensive proposals," he told the media.
Hartarto explained that the proposals involve adjustments to tariff and non-tariff configurations, as well as concrete efforts to drive a more favorable ratio in the trade balance between the two countries.
The minister highlighted that while leading the Indonesian delegation, he held meetings with multiple US high-ranking officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

He reiterated Indonesia's commitment to fair trade, aiming for a balanced and mutually advantageous relationship between both nations.
"President Prabowo has emphasized the need to steer the negotiations toward win-win solutions, ensuring that both countries receive equal benefits," he affirmed.
To demonstrate this commitment, he affirmed that President Prabowo has approved the establishment of three special task forces aimed at advancing and expediting the ongoing talks while mitigating the potential impact of tariffs on the domestic workforce.
Furthermore, he noted that the Indonesian and US governments had signed a non-disclosure agreement to ensure that negotiations proceed smoothly behind closed doors.
In addition to Hartarto, the Indonesian delegation also included Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
Indonesia and the US have agreed to complete their tariff talks within 60 days.
