Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto on Monday highlighted that the Danantara Investment Management Agency has the potential to manage assets worth over US$1 trillion.

He delivered the statement following a meeting held to foster synergy between Danantara and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) whose assets are under its management.

"If we take a closer look at the assets we possess, we will realize that our country is rich. Danantara's asset value will exceed US$1 trillion—a wealth that can serve as a powerful source of national financial strength, if managed properly," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

President Prabowo emphasized that professionalism, transparency, and hard work are crucial to increasing the value of Danantara's assets, which currently stand at approximately US$982 billion.

He stressed that the wealth managed by the investment agency is a national treasure that must be utilized and safeguarded through trustworthy and transparent systems.

"I want to underline that these funds are the wealth of our nation, and they must be managed under a transparent and stringent system," he affirmed.

The President further noted that the projected value of Danantara's assets reflects Indonesia's immense economic potential.

He also called upon all directors of SOEs affiliated with Danantara to abandon inefficient and outdated practices, and instead, focus on responsible and results-driven asset management.

"In the name of the nation and the people, I urge all directors to give their utmost effort and leave behind obsolete practices that are considered inefficient and detrimental," he said.

On the same occasion, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, who is also serving as Danantara CEO, concurred with the President's remarks regarding the agency's asset value.

He informed that the estimated value of Danantara's assets stems from the government's plan to bring the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium Complex under the agency's management.

Currently under the supervision of the State Secretariat Ministry, state assets tied to the complex are valued at around US$25 billion, as per data released eight years ago, he said.
