Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology intensified bilateral relations in the fields of higher education, science, and technology with the Government of Mongolia.

"We want to encourage stronger collaboration between universities in Indonesia and Mongolia through joint research, mobility programs, and exchange of lecturers and professors," Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto noted in a statement here on Friday.

This was conveyed during a meeting with Ambassador of Mongolia to Indonesia, Enkhtaivan Dashnyam, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He further expressed Indonesia's readiness to send professors to teach in Mongolia as part of education diplomacy.

Minister Yuliarto also offered doctoral degree (PhD) scholarship opportunities to Mongolian lecturers, as part of the commitment to expanding higher education cooperation in Asia.

"We believe that through higher education, we can build an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future. We want to make education a bridge that connects the two great cultures of Indonesia and Mongolia," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Dashnyam commended Indonesia's commitment to opening inclusive and sustainable cooperation pathways.

He highlighted that Mongolia's foreign cooperation primarily targets the education sector, adding that Indonesia represents a promising partner in this area.

He affirmed that Mongolia fully supports the student lecturer exchange initiative and the scholarship program.

The ambassador also expressed his interest in visiting academic departments of universities in Indonesia and exploring opportunities to exchange best practices and educational technology.

The Indonesian government has reopened opportunities for Mongolian students to participate in the Developing Countries Partnership Scholarship program, which offers full-time study opportunities for master's and doctoral degrees at various universities in Indonesia.
