The announcement was made during the state visit of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and his delegation to Indonesia at here on Sunday, witnessed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Premier Li.
The media cooperation agreements between ANTARA and CMG, as well as between ANTARA and Xinhua, were part of eight bilateral cooperation deals signed by the governments of Indonesia and China.
In addition to the media sector, the bilateral agreements covered other fields like tourism, with a partnership between Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
In the agricultural sector, the Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency signed a cooperation deal with China’s General Administration of Customs concerning the export of agricultural products.
The two countries also agreed to cooperate in the field of traditional medicine through an agreement between Indonesia’s Ministry of Health and China’s National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Another agreement in the health sector was reached on tuberculosis prevention and control between the Indonesian Ministry of Health and China’s National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention.
Meanwhile, in the economic sector, a cooperation agreement was signed between Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund management agency Danantara and China Investment Corporation.
Furthermore, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia agreed to establish strategic business cooperation.
In addition to the eight cooperation agreements, the governments of Indonesia and China signed four memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
The first MoU was signed between Bank Indonesia and the People’s Bank of China to encourage bilateral transactions in local currencies.
The second MoU is between the National Economic Council and China’s National Development and Reform Commission in economic development policy.
The third MoU was signed between Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and China’s Ministry of Commerce on strengthening economic cooperation in the industrial and supply chain sectors.
The fourth MoU was signed by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, China’s Ministry of Commerce, and the Fujian Provincial Government to support the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" program.
