President Subianto made this statement during his speech at the commemoration ceremony for Pancasila Day, held at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, on Monday.
"We are the generation that will soon have to step off the podium. What we are doing is solely for our children and grandchildren. We are now fighting corruption so that you (the next generation) can take over a country that is strong and in good condition,” he affirmed.
The president also urged all segments of society, especially the youth, to support his efforts in creating a clean government and combating corruption.
"Do not hesitate! If you see an official or a leader violating the law, report it! We have technology now. Every citizen, even in the villages, can use gadgets. If there is evidence of wrongdoing, expose it immediately! Do not tolerate misconduct," he remarked.
"Do not accept leaders who do as they please and are disloyal to the nation and state," he stressed.
In the same speech, the head of state also reiterated his call for all elements of government, including public institutions, to reform and cleanse themselves of corruption. He stressed that the state would take firm action against anyone who violates the law.
"Our country is strong. Those who are disloyal to the nation will be removed without hesitation, regardless of who they are, which family they come from, which party or ethnicity, anyone who is disloyal to the country, who breaks the law, who violates the Constitution, will be dealt with," he asserted.
During the ceremony, Subianto also warned that officials unable to stop or prevent state fund leakages should step down before being dismissed by the president.
"All misconduct and (fund) leakages must stop! Any official who cannot fulfill their duties should step down before I dismiss them," he stated
