"So, basically, we are currently in the operational preparation stage, and this is (being done) together with the BSSN (National Cyber and Crypto Agency)," she informed at the Telecommunication Equipment Test Center (BBPPT) here on Wednesday.
"So, when it is fit for testing, and has undergone stress testing and so on, we will operate PDN 1," she added.
She said that the government is exercising care in operating the data center because it is linked to public data security.
The ministry and the BSSN are still evaluating the security and reliability of the PDN 1 system.
Hafid informed that PDN 1 has been operated for a number of reliability and safety tests, including stress tests or system resilience tests.

"So, (the data center) is actually already operational, but there are still stress tests that need to be done while we conduct a feasibility test. It will be fully operational when it is confirmed that it is safe to operate," she added.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is coordinating with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and other ministries to digitalize public services.
"The PDN is an essential foundation for strengthening the government's digital ecosystem. We are working with Bappenas and related ministries to ensure an integrated and sustainable system," the minister explained.
Besides preparing for the operation of PDN 1, the ministry is also drawing up the construction plan for PDN 2 and PDN 3.
The government is committed to completing the development of all three data centers to ensure effective, safe, and sustainable digital transformation in governance.
