"I called for strengthening connectivity between businesses of the two countries, including through business forums and joint trade missions," he said, according to a written statement issued by the ministry here on Thursday.
Sugiono made the statement while receiving a visit from the Omani Ambassador to Indonesia, Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Salim Al Shanfari, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Sugiono and Ambassador Al Shanfari discussed concrete steps to solidify bilateral cooperation, including in trade, investment, and tourism.
In the investment sector, the Indonesian minister called for the maximization of strategic opportunities, especially in new and renewable energy and mining.
In the tourism sector, there is interest among Omanis to visit Indonesia, not only Bali but also other tourist destinations.

Ambassador Al Shanfari also expressed the hope that more Indonesian tourists will visit Oman.
In addition, the two agreed to promote high-level visits and continue preparations for the 2nd Indonesia-Oman Political Consultation.
The bilateral meeting was held as part of Indonesia's commitment to strengthening diplomatic networks with partner countries, especially in the Middle East, to advance peace and stability in the region.
Indonesia and Oman established diplomatic relations in 1978. In 2024, Oman emerged as Indonesia's third-largest trading partner and the fourth-largest source of foreign tourists from the Middle East region.
Last year, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, proposed the development of digital cooperation and investment with Oman.
"In this rapidly growing technology era, both Oman and Indonesia have great opportunities to work together more closely in advancing digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and encouraging innovation," she said.
