Bengkayang, W Kalimantan (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has said that the Red and White Village cooperatives planned by his government will be encouraged to collaborate with existing, well-performing cooperatives to strengthen the overall ecosystem of these business entities.

“We will establish 80,000 cooperatives nationwide that will complement and synergize with successful existing cooperatives. Together, these cooperatives will reinforce one another and create a new network,” he explained.

Speaking at a mass corn harvest event in Bengkayang, West Kalimantan, on Thursday, he expressed hope that this collaboration would also pave the way for the emergence of new production and supply chains.

He stressed that the cooperatives must operate in harmony to help the government provide affordable food, improve the exchange rates of farmers and fishers, and enhance the population’s nutritional status.

“It is critical to ensure affordable food prices, raise the exchange rates of farmers and fishers, and guarantee our people’s access to sufficient, protein-rich foods. That way, we can achieve our goal of creating a fair and prosperous society,” he said.
