Patria met with director general of digital technologies and telecommunications at the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology of the United Kingdom government Emran Mian, on Tuesday to exchange experiences and best practices in digital technology development.
"This meeting was very valuable for exchanging views and learning from the UK's experience in developing an advanced digital ecosystem, especially in the field of AI," Patria informed in a press statement received here on Wednesday.
Key areas of discussion included the development of AI infrastructure, training digital talents, and formulating adaptive regulatory frameworks to ensure the safe, ethical, and beneficial use of AI.
"We are committed to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in facing future challenges and opportunities in the AI sector," he added.
During the meeting, delegates from the two countries shared their priorities and initiatives in building an inclusive AI ecosystem.
The UK side highlighted its investment of over one billion euros, spread over four years, in AI computing research and the establishment of large-scale data centers.
Meanwhile, Indonesia emphasized its focus on building data centers, developing AI chips, and enhancing computational power through cross-sectoral collaboration.
In terms of digital talent, Indonesia reiterated its ongoing efforts to organize training programs and classes to build digital skills to meet its target of producing nine million digital talents by 2030.
Meanwhile, the UK shared information about its comprehensive programs to stoke interest in technology among schoolchildren, fund master's and PhD programs, and provide training to existing workers to help them adapt to AI-driven changes in the labor market.
Both countries also emphasized the need for a strong AI governance framework to guarantee safe and ethical AI implementation.
