At the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) here on Wednesday, the minister informed that those projects are among 55 projects that will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
“Today at ICI, nine projects out of a total of 55 projects, worth Rp90 trillion, are open for investment,” Hanggodo said.
The nine projects consist of five water resource projects, three road projects, and a waste infrastructure project.
The Public Works Ministry needs Rp1,900 trillion in funds to achieve the 2025–2029 development target. The government budget can provide 60 percent of the funds, and the rest will need to be sourced through collaborative and creative funding.
“Let’s make this a call for us to build infrastructure, but with a long-lasting impact,” Hanggodo said.
He added that the PPP scheme highlights the role of the private sector in infrastructure development.
Notably, PPP projects and assignments contributed 21.4 percent or Rp440.4 trillion of the total infrastructure funding needs of Rp2,058 trillion in 2020–2024.
Therefore, the ministry’s Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing is continuing to develop the alternative financing scheme.
Over the past five years, the directorate general has succeeded in arranging the signing of 15 PPP agreements in various sectors.
Hanggodo urged officials at all levels of the ministry, particularly the Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing, to continue to review and develop creative financing schemes, including PPP, blended finance, and asset securitization to support infrastructural development.
