"Hopefully, we can launch this system by the end of the year through the social assistance program," he remarked at the 2025 International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) on Thursday.
Pandjaitan described this initiative as part of the government's efforts to maintain fiscal discipline through efficient spending while increasing productive revenue.
He noted that digitalizing government services is expected to support more disciplined fiscal performance.
"Therefore, President Prabowo Subianto encourages rapid progress in the use of technology. He is targeting the launch of GovTech in August," Pandjaitan remarked.
Earlier, the head of state had launched an e-catalog, covering 90 percent of government procurement, which is expected to encourage savings of up to 30-40 percent.
In addition, the government has developed the Simbara application, an information system for the mineral and coal sectors.
Pandjaitan then highlighted the implementation of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for the Family Hope Program (PKH), one of the social protection programs projected to save up to Rp17 trillion (US$1 billion) per year.
The figure was derived from a coordination meeting involving the minister of communication and digital and the minister of state apparatus and bureaucratic reform, as well as several related stakeholders.
He noted that the meeting is part of efforts to accelerate the implementation of GovTech Indonesia, a direct presidential mandate targeted for completion before August 17, 2025.
Pandjaitan emphasized the urgent need to realize a more targeted and transparent social assistance system to create a tangible impact on society.
"However, efficiency is not the only goal. We want to ensure the state's presence for those who need it the most," he stated.
