Speaking at the Jakarta Future Festival, held in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) on Sunday, Anung said Jakarta's current regional budget has reached Rp91 trillion (around US$5.5 billion).
While expecting Jakarta's regional budget to increase next year, he said the average budget surplus (SiLPA) is recorded at Rp5-6 trillion (around US$307-368 million), and the real SiLPA is estimated at Rp2-3 trillion (around US$122-184 million).

If the budget surplus can be achieved, the Jakarta administration must spend at least Rp5 trillion for the 19-kilometer Sea Wall every year, he said, adding that constructing a 19-kilometer giant sea wall would be a challenging and profitable long-term project.
Anung further said managing waste and turning it into energy would entirely be used from solar power plants (PLTS) so that the waste problem is hopefully resolved.
In fact, the Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build four solar power plants, he added.
"The waste problem is solved. The electricity problem is met. Pollution will also be greatly reduced, and then there will be revenue for Jakarta. The revenue will be used to build the Giant Sea Wall," he said.
President Prabowo Subianto said earlier that the giant sea wall mega project stretches 500 kilometers along the north coast of Java, from Banten to Gresik, East Java, and it requires a construction cost of US$80 billion, including the Jakarta Bay, which is expected to spend US$8-10 billion.
