Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka explained that although families are small, they serve as the foundation of a nation, as it is within the family that children learn values, such as love, respect, empathy, and understanding of social life.
Oka outlined eight essential functions: religious, socio-cultural, affection, protection, reproduction, socialization and education, economic, as well as environmental.
She affirmed that by implementing the eight functions, good habits can be fostered, thereby enabling families to become resilient and support the nation. However, Oka emphasized that family resilience is not built by families alone but also requires support from the community, educational institutions, workplaces, and the state's policies.
To this end, her administration promotes collective family resilience, encouraging families to synergize within a broader social ecosystem.
She affirmed that the ministry supports this effort with five programs: the daycare program (Tamasya), Foster Parents for Stunting Prevention (Genting), National Exemplary Father Initiative (GATI), Empowered Elderly, and an AI-based super app for family services.
Oka elaborated that the ministry also collaborates with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for the free nutritious meal (MBG) program to fulfill the nutritional intake for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
"We want to ensure that family resilience is not limited to psychological or social aspects but also nutritional and health aspects," Oka stated.
She urged everyone to collaborate and utilize these policies through practical implementation to create a Golden Indonesia through concrete actions.
