Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno emphasized the vital role of families as "directors" in shaping quality human resources, especially amid the rapid pace of technological disruptions.

“Families truly act as 'directors' in preparing children as role models, as they provide guidance so that children grow up healthy, physically, morally, and mentally,” Pratikno said here on Tuesday.

Pratikno delivered his remarks during the “KolaborAKSI” agenda, part of a series of events leading up to the 2025 National Family Day (Harganas), which will fall on 29 June.

He underlined that National Family Day serves as an important momentum to highlight the strategic position of families as the main pillar in Indonesia's human development.

Pratikno explained that strengthening the role of families in child upbringing and education cannot be done in a partial manner. Further, cross-sector collaboration is key to building resilient families and quality human resources, he added.

“This is not the task of a single family, but a collective effort by all Indonesian families. The central and regional governments, non-governmental organizations, communities, as well as the private and philanthropic sectors must be involved,” he added.

He also expressed his appreciation for the presence of several communities and private institutions at the event, which he said reflects their concern for family issues and the protection of children.

“This major task cannot be carried out in a short time. It must be continuous, consistent, and involve all parties in accompanying Indonesia’s children, through the role of families,” Pratikno said.

On the same occasion, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi emphasized the importance of building resilient families, as they are the primary place for children to learn.
