St. Petersburg, Russia (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, Wednesday (June 18) at around 18:00 local time for a state visit and to meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

Upon arrival at Pulkovo International Airport, Prabowo was welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The two had previously met in Jakarta.

President Prabowo and Deputy PM Manturov then proceeded to the welcoming ceremony from the honor guard. The national anthem of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia Raya, was sung to welcome President Prabowo.

Prabowo thereafter greeted each Russian and Indonesian government official who welcomed him.

Prabowo and Manturov continued to inspect the troops and observed the Russian military parade.

Prabowo then entered a vehicle and continued his journey to the hotel where he would be staying during his visit in St. Petersburg.

President Prabowo is scheduled to carry out two main activities: a state visit with a bilateral meeting with President Putin on Thursday (June 19) and participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where he will deliver a keynote speech on Friday (June 20).

On Thursday morning, he will first pay tribute to fallen Russian heroes and lay a wreath at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery.

Prabowo will continue his agenda to the Constantine Palace for a state visit and bilateral meeting with Putin.

At the palace, he will also witness the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Indonesia and Russia.

The agenda will conclude with a joint statement by Prabowo and Putin.

Several ministers are accompanying Prabowo on the state visit, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman.

Other officials expected to attend are Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, as well as President Director of Pertamina Simon Aloysius Mantiri.

For the next agenda, President Prabowo will attend SPIEF as a keynote speaker.

The economic forum, held from June 18 to 21, 2025, is attended by businesspersons, government officials, civil society members, academics, think tanks, and media representatives from various countries.

Prabowo's visit to St. Petersburg on June 18-20, 2025, marks his first official trip since being inaugurated as Indonesia's 8th president in October 2024.

Earlier, in July 2024, while still President-elect, Prabowo visited Moscow and was received by President Putin.
