Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, noted in a statement on Thursday that ITMO's joint supervision initiative is a good practice that can inspire Indonesia.
“We see that the education model at ITMO not only focuses on science and technology but also emphasizes character building through strengthening the humanities. This is a comprehensive educational approach, and we find it highly inspiring,” he affirmed.
Vladimir Vasilyev, Rector of ITMO University, lauded the Indonesian delegation's visit and described it as Indonesia's strong commitment to building mutually beneficial academic relations.
“ITMO University welcomes collaboration opportunities with Indonesia, especially in technological innovation development and student mobility,” Vasilyev stated.
Ekaterina Tulugurova, Head of the International Education Program Department at ITMO University, highlighted the positive contributions of Indonesian students at ITMO through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program.
She noted that Indonesian students have demonstrated commendable academic performance and are expected to increase in number in the future.
Minister Yuliarto made an official visit to ITMO University in Russia on Tuesday (June 17) as part of a mission to strengthen academic and research collaboration between Indonesia and Russia.
This visit fostered an initial understanding of the potential for strategic collaboration between Indonesian higher education institutions and ITMO University.
As a follow-up, meetings and exchanges of formal cooperation documents will be scheduled to enhance the implementation of real programs in the future.
