"In my seven months of administration, we have achieved an increase in rice and corn production of around 50 percent," Prabowo noted in his speech at the event, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Friday.
He noted that the rise in rice and corn production was the largest aggregate increase in the history of the Republic of Indonesia.
In addition, the president revealed that currently, rice reserves in government warehouses stood at 4.4 million tons, marking the highest level in the nation's history.
Prabowo further stated that under his leadership, the Indonesian government has made various efforts, starting from increasing efficiency, carrying out corruption eradication measures, and conducting deregulation by cutting regulations that hinder efficiency.

The president also delivered reports from experts showing that Indonesia's economic growth in the first semester of this year has exceeded five percent.
The government projects that this growth could approach or surpass seven percent by year's end.
In terms of food security, President Prabowo is targeting to achieve food self-sufficiency within four years. Nevertheless, with current developments, the government assessed that food self-sufficiency can be achieved within a year.
In the next few years, Indonesia is also projected to become an exporter of rice and corn.
President Prabowo attended the SPIEF 2025 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. He concluded his visit to St. Petersburg on June 18–20 by participating in the event.
Earlier, on Thursday, President Prabowo met with Russian President Putin at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg, where the two leaders witnessed the exchange of four agreement documents between Indonesia and Russia.
