“It will be disbursed. Thus, for workers, please be patient because this is a manifestation of the government’s care,” head of the ministry’s public relations bureau, Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga, said after the “Double-Check” discussion in Jakarta on Saturday.
He informed that the disbursement of the aid experienced delays because the data validation process had not been completed. However, now, the process has been completed and entered the finalization stage.
The assistance, amounting to Rp300 thousand (around US$18.28) per month, will be disbursed at once for June and July 2025. Thus, each beneficiary will receive Rp600 thousand.
The program, which is targeting 17.3 million workers and contract-based teachers, is being implemented under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
Data on workers who are BSU beneficiaries was obtained from state workers’ insurance provider BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and consolidated with the Ministry of Manpower.
Meanwhile, the data on contract-based teachers was coordinated by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
The provision of BSU is regulated in the Manpower Minister’s Regulation Number 5 of 2025.
As per the regulation, the beneficiaries need to meet the criteria to receive BSU. They need to be Indonesian citizens and earning a maximum monthly wage of Rp3.5 million (around US$213.26).
The beneficiaries must also be active members of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s insurance program as of April 2025.
The provision of BSU for June and July is a part of the government’s economic stimulus package to maintain people’s purchasing power and stabilize the economy. The government has allocated a budget of Rp10.72 trillion (approximately US$653.19 million) for the assistance.
