Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government will provide wage subsidy assistance to workers for two months, specifically June and July 2025.

The assistance, amounting to Rp150 thousand (around US$9.21) per month, will be disbursed at once in June. It targets 17 million workers earning a maximum wage of Rp3.5 million (around US$214.7), or in line with the regional minimum wage, and 3.4 million contract-based teachers.

"The economic stimulus for the second quarter of 2025 has been discussed thoroughly in the limited ministerial coordination meeting on Friday (May 23)," Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso stated here on Tuesday.

The disbursement process will involve several ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Manpower, and state insurer BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for workers, as well as the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs for contract-based teachers.

In addition to the wage subsidy, the government will provide various other stimulus programs. These include a 50-percent electricity tariff discount for 79.3 million customers from June 5 to July 31, 2025.

The government has also prepared mass transportation tariff discounts, such as a 30-percent discount on train tickets, a six-percent government-borne value-added tax (VAT) on plane tickets, and up to a 50-percent discount on sea transportation.

Furthermore, the government will provide a 20-percent toll discount for 110 million toll users throughout the school holiday period.

Meanwhile, for social protection, the government provides Rp200 thousand (around US$12.28) under the Staple Goods Card program and 10-kg rice assistance to 18.3 million beneficiary families.

In the employment sector, there is a 50-percent discount for work accident insurance contribution from August 2025 to January 2026.
