Federal II, a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel, caught fire at around 2:15 p.m. local time while docked at PT ASL Shipyard Indonesia in Tanjung Uncang, Batam City.
Due to the shipyard's restricted access, firefighting and evacuation efforts were conducted exclusively by the facility’s internal safety personnel, Lambang said.
Police officers at the scene secured the shipyard’s perimeter and coordinated with site authorities to ensure that all victims were evacuated to local hospitals, he added.
