Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto extended greetings for the Islamic New Year to Muslims in Indonesia and around the world during a joint press conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Friday.

“First of all, I would like to wish a happy Islamic New Year, Muharram 1, 1447 Hijri, to all Muslims. May Allah, the Almighty God, always bless our steps and hopes,” he said at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

The President also shared a similar message through a post on his official Instagram account, @prabowo.gibran2.

The post featured an image of a mosque under a sky tinged with orange, blue, and purple hues.

“Happy Islamic New Year, Muharram 1, 1447 Hijri. Hopefully, this year will bring blessings, peace, and goodness to all of us. Let us use this moment to foster new determination toward a more peaceful world,” the caption read.
