Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto wrapped up his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and departed from Jeddah on Thursday to continue his tour to the next country.

The head of state and his entourage took off from the Royal Terminal, King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, at 3:15 local time.

President Prabowo was sent off by Deputy Governor of Mecca, Prince Suud bin Mis'al bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, along with the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz, and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, Brigadier General Eri Nasuhi.

Prabowo's two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia was considered productive and meaningful, during which he was welcomed by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, to strengthen bilateral relations and expand strategic cooperation in various fields.

President Prabowo and Prince MBS expressed their aspirations to enhance strategic cooperation in the health sector, especially regarding the implementation of health requirements for the Hajj and Umrah.

They also pledged to support investment in the pharmaceutical, vaccine, health technology industries, and human resource development sectors.

Additionally, the two countries acknowledged the importance of strengthening partnerships in various other strategic sectors, such as the digital economy, justice system, employment, culture, tourism, youth and sports, education and scientific research, industry and mining, agriculture, fisheries and food security, as well as aviation connectivity.

Indonesia and Saudi Arabia agreed to invest US$27 billion in several sectors, including clean energy, the petrochemical industry, and aviation fuel services.

In the field of defense and security, President Prabowo and Prince MBS agreed to strengthen cooperation for mutual benefits and to contribute to regional and global stability. The main focus includes cooperation on counterterrorism, combating extremism, cybersecurity, and information exchange and training.

Both countries also emphasized the importance of cooperation in multilateral forums, such as the IMF, World Bank, OIC, G20, and the Non-Aligned Movement, to address global challenges and advocate for common interests.

After leaving Saudi Arabia, the president is scheduled to visit Brazil to continue his diplomatic mission to strengthen Indonesia's partnerships with strategic partner countries.

Accompanying President Prabowo on this state visit are Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
