He conveyed this on the sidelines of his visit to Padang, West Sumatra, on Thursday.
During his visit, he is also scheduled to attend the inauguration of the board of West Sumatra’s Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI).
Regarding the exact number of athletes who will be sent to Thailand for the 2025 SEA Games, he said that currently, the ministry is reviewing athletes with the help of experts.

“We have a review team consisting of sports experts and academics to review the athletes who will compete in the SEA Games,” he added.
According to Ariotedjo, once the team provides its inputs, the ministry will announce the names of athletes who will take part in the 33rd edition of the SEA Games, scheduled to be held from December 9 to 20, 2025.
Earlier on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Taufik Hidayat, said that there has been no official decision yet regarding the number of athletes who will participate in this year’s SEA Games.
Currently, the selection and formation of the contingent is being discussed with many parties.
Hidayat said that the ministry will coordinate with the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) and sports associations to improve the selection of athletes by prioritizing those with the potential to win medals.
