“I would like to ask for support from members of Commission V of the DPR to oversee this program in your respective electoral regions,” he said during a meeting with Commission V at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
He highlighted that officials from his ministry have been working hard to ensure that the KMP program runs as anticipated by conducting visits to regions across the country.
“Everyone, including me and Deputy Minister Ahmad Riza Patria, is focusing on the KMP program, which has become a source of pride for all of us,” he said.
Susanto, who is also a deputy chair of the KMP implementation task force, underlined that President Prabowo Subianto is set to launch the Red and White Village Cooperatives nationwide from Klaten, Central Java, on July 19, 2025.
“God willing, Mr. President, in Klaten, on July 19, will launch approximately 80 thousand village cooperatives, around 130 of which are set to run as models for the program’s implementation,” he said.
The minister stressed that the development of the business entities is a strategic move by President Prabowo’s administration to bring progress to rural areas by bolstering cooperatives as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The presence of village cooperatives is expected to stimulate local economic growth and help rural residents improve their competitiveness and financial independence, he added.
He also reiterated his ministry’s commitment to making the KMP program a success.
“We will provide guidance and take empowerment measures, as Mr. President has instructed us not only to set up village cooperatives but also to ensure that they bring concrete benefits to all people,” he affirmed.
