Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy has pledged support for the Red and White Village Cooperatives program of the Cooperatives Ministry to help create new jobs in the creative economy sector.

This support, which is aimed at helping the creative economy become a new engine of economic growth, was marked by the two ministries signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Thursday.

“We want to identify the potential of each village to strengthen the Red and White Village Cooperatives program,” Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said.

He emphasized the importance of the ministerial collaboration for data development, human resource development, funding system facilitation, creative infrastructure provision in villages, development of marketing systems, and the creation of new jobs for the younger generation.

Meanwhile, Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie Setiadi expressed the hope that the collaboration will support the creation of an economy dominated by local products.

“This aligns with the government’s four main programs: job creation, food self-sufficiency, energy self-sufficiency, and downstreaming,” he added.
