"Crafts are part of MSMEs. Their market is huge globally. Indonesia is known as a country with a wide variety of handicrafts, which means we have enormous potential to expand our market internationally," Karnavian stated during the closing ceremony of the 45th anniversary of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) at the BSCC Dome in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Friday.
The 2025 Dekranas Anniversary celebration, themed "Globally Empowered Craftsmen," serves as an important opportunity to encourage Indonesian craftsmen to increase their capacity and competitiveness, both domestically and internationally.
He emphasized that the spirit of the 45th Dekranas Anniversary celebration serves as a motivation for artisans to continue innovating, developing, and making meaningful contributions to the national economy.
It aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's grand vision of making Indonesia a developed nation, moving toward a Golden Indonesia 2045.
He expressed hope that the event would stimulate various sectors, especially the real sector, which plays a significant role in creating jobs and driving regional and national economic growth.
"Dekranas is a driving force with a spirit of togetherness and dedication, even amid global uncertainty. We must continue to encourage artisans and MSMEs to advance and become highly competitive," the minister remarked.
As Advisor to Dekranas, Karnavian also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas'ud and East Kalimantan Regional National Crafts Council Chairperson Syarifah Suraidah Harum for successfully hosting and making the national event a success.
As previously reported, the Trade Ministry recorded total export business matching transactions for MSMEs' products reaching $87.04 million, equivalent to Rp1.41 trillion, during the first half of 2025.
